The register is not a feed of adverts — every file on it was measured, its deed read and its permits pulled before anyone saw a price. That work is done by people, and those people are what we hire.

A surveyor here walks about eleven properties a week and disagrees with the owner's stated area on roughly one in five. A documents officer reads forty deeds and refuses six. Those two numbers are the whole business.

The trades below are hired on the same terms in all four countries: a local permanent contract, no commission, and a salary band published in the listing rather than negotiated in the dark.

  4. 04 · Day 13—19 Answer Offer or refusal in writing, with the reasons and the notes from the task.

Four things we will not offer you.

  • Commission or bonuses Nobody here is paid per file, per sale or per lead. The salary is the salary.
  • A sales target There is no board on the wall. You are measured on volume checked and errors caught.
  • Weekend viewings Viewings are the agents' work, not ours. Saturdays are Saturdays.
  • Equity in place of pay We are not a startup and we will not offer you options instead of money.
