Two cuts this week, and what each one was answering.

Price moves · Desk 07Thursday 17 September 2026, 09:40Every move is the owner’s, minuted and dated

Two cuts this week · two homes owed a conversation

A cut answers silence.

You cut two prices this week, both after weeks with no hour booked. Two more homes have now gone as long — 8 rue Cler at a hundred and twenty-eight days, 14 rue de Verneuil at a hundred and six — and neither figure has moved since the day it was written. The price is the owner’s to change. The silence is yours to report.

Section 06

What a cut does.

Three things happen in the same minute · none of them can be turned off
1The owner is told first.

Nothing changes on the sheet until the owner has signed the new figure. The letter you send carries the reason, the comparable sales and the hours attended — and it is kept, so in January nobody argues about what was said in September.

Both cuts this week signed within three days
2Everyone holding it is written to.

Every buyer with the home on their list, and every buyer whose brief it now fits, gets one letter the same minute. Not a banner, not a badge on a card — a letter, with the old figure and the new one in it.

Fifteen letters went out this week · eleven answered
3The old figure stays on the sheet.

Struck through, with its date, for as long as the home is on the floor. A buyer can see what was asked in July and what is asked now, without asking you. This is the part advisors ask us to remove, and the part we will not remove.

No sheet on this desk has a deleted price
And what a cut is notIt is not the first answer to silence. Photographs, a signed report and an offered hour come first — on this desk two of the four homes without movement are quiet because of something you owe, not because of a figure. What you owe, by home
