Fitted by the Munich workshop in a day. The pedal is noticeably firmer from cold and the car stops flat instead of nosing down. Worth it for the alpine roads alone — no fade after a full descent from the Stelvio.

Brembo GT Brake Kit, Front
A direct-fit six-piston front kit for the 991 and 992 Carrera. Two-piece floating discs cut 4.6 kg of unsprung mass per corner and hold pedal feel through repeated heavy braking — the difference is obvious on the second lap, and on a long alpine descent.
Everything in the box is Brembo’s own: no third-party brackets, no adapted lines, nothing that has to be persuaded to fit. It is the kit our own workshops put on the demonstrators, and the one we recommend to owners who see a mountain road more than once a year rather than to anyone chasing a number on paper.

What you are buying
A complete front axle kit: two six-piston monobloc calipers, two 380 mm two-piece floating discs, pads, stainless braided lines and all mounting hardware. Nothing else is needed to fit it.
The aluminium hats save 4.6 kg of unsprung mass per corner against the standard cast setup. That shows up twice: the car changes direction more willingly, and the pedal stays where you left it after repeated heavy stops. On road cars we see the biggest difference on long descents, where standard discs start to fade by the third or fourth hairpin.
Supplied with the manufacturer’s bedding-in procedure. We recommend the first 200 km without hard braking; our workshop does that stage for you if you have the kit fitted here.
The gain is not only in outright stopping distance — a standard 991 already stops well from one hard application. What changes is repeatability. Cast one-piece discs hold heat in the friction ring and pass it into the fluid; a two-piece disc with an aluminium hat sheds that heat between corners, so the pedal sits in the same place on the tenth stop as it did on the first. That consistency is what makes a fast road feel easy rather than tiring.
Fitting takes a competent workshop about four hours per axle. Nothing needs modifying: the brackets locate on the factory mounting points, the braided lines use the original routing and clips, and the ABS calibration is unaffected because the rotor diameter and pad friction coefficient stay inside the manufacturer window. Wheels must clear a 380 mm rotor — every factory 20-inch fitment does, and the common 19-inch Carrera S wheel does too.
Two honest caveats. The sport pads produce more dust than the originals for the first few hundred kilometres, so expect to clean the wheels more often until they settle. And in the first week from cold you may hear a light rasp on the initial application — that is the compound bedding, not a fault, and it disappears once the transfer layer is even.

Ordered on a Tuesday, arrived Thursday, everything in the box exactly as listed. My own garage fitted it with no surprises and no extra parts needed.
Braking is a clear step up and the weight saving is real. Some brake dust on the wheels in the first weeks until the pads bedded in properly — worth knowing in advance.
