WHO WE ARE

Nowon (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for personal information collected through this website and in the course of our legal work.

Our registered office is at Street Address, City. Our Data Protection Officer can be reached at privacy@firm.com.

WHAT WE COLLECT

We collect only what we need to advise you and run the firm.

  • Identity: name, date of birth, identification documents for client checks.
  • Contact: email, phone, postal address.
  • Matter: facts, documents and correspondence you share with us.
  • Financial: billing details and payment records.
  • Technical: IP address and browser data when you visit this site.

WHERE IT COMES FROM

Mostly from you — in calls, emails, forms and meetings. Sometimes from third parties: the other side of a matter, courts, public registers, or identity-verification providers.

WHY WE USE IT

Every use has a legal basis. The main purposes are set out below.

LEGAL PRIVILEGE

Information you share for the purpose of legal advice is protected by legal professional privilege. We never disclose it without your instruction unless the law strictly requires us to.

WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

We do not sell personal data. Ever. We share it only when needed for your matter or to run the firm.

  • Professionals: barristers, experts and foreign counsel — with your agreement.
  • Service providers: IT, cloud storage and payment processors, under strict contracts.
  • Authorities: courts and regulators, only where legally required.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

We keep matter files for seven years after a matter closes, unless the law or the nature of the matter requires longer (for example, wills). After that, data is securely deleted.

HOW WE PROTECT IT

Files are stored on encrypted, access-controlled systems. Only people working on your matter can open them. Staff are trained in confidentiality and data protection every year.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can ask to see, correct, delete or move your data, restrict how we use it, or object to its use. See section 03 on this page to make a request — it is free and we respond within 30 days.
