Urgent matters can begin the same day. Otherwise we reply within one business day and agree a start date together.

After the first call we send a written estimate. Most matters run on a fixed or capped fee; hourly work is agreed in advance and reported monthly.

A fixed fee is one price for an agreed scope. A capped fee is hourly work with a ceiling you choose — you never pay more than the cap without agreeing first.

For fixed fees we usually ask for 50% on signing and 50% on completion. For other work, a small deposit is held in our client account.

Yes, on matters over $10,000 we can spread payments monthly. Ask at the estimate stage.

A named partner leads every case from start to finish, supported by a small team you will meet at the beginning.

At every key step, and at least once a month with a short written update. You also get the partner’s direct line.

Yes. Most meetings can happen by video call, and documents can be signed electronically.

No. We never contact anyone about your matter without your explicit instruction.

Most do not. Around three in four of our disputes settle through negotiation or mediation. We prepare for court so that we rarely need to go.

A negotiated settlement can take weeks. Court proceedings typically take 12–18 months. We give you a realistic timeline at the start.

A confidential meeting with a neutral mediator who helps both sides reach an agreement. It is faster and cheaper than court.

If you win in court, you can often recover a large part of your costs. We will explain the realistic amount for your case.

If you own property, have children or a business, yes. Without one, the law decides who inherits — and that is rarely what people would choose.
